So...what are my rights again?

Per Comm. Irwin's response to my post, "Part 2: My big debut: "Your behavior is disgraceful," I have decided to protest the Jan. 2009 ruling that comments must be "germane" to items on the agenda or the commenter will be ruled out of order.

As a Republican (or at least, my version of Republican,) I truly believe in individual rights. I don't want or need 'The Man' telling me what to do. Thanks, but no thanks. I'm responsible for ME. If I want to talk for three minutes at a public hearing, it's my right to do so. As long as I don't cuss, slander, or outright lie, it is my right to speak. Therefore,

I plan on annoying the heck out of the Ways and Means Committee. From now on, I plan on speaking for three minutes about whatever comes to mind. I plan on using the three minutes at the beginning and end of the meeting to become more annoying than Mr. Partridge. I hope they will breathe a sigh of relief when he approaches the microphone.

If you're reading this, I encourage you to do the same. Read the phone book, talk about your dog, your week at work, or your general frustration with drive-thru lines. I don't care. Because...

This Is Not OK. Seriously, the Board gets to decide what is "germane" to the agenda? This arouses every conspiracy bone in my body. (I'm thinking I'll need to post some experiences that have shaped my viewpoints, since they aren't typical to other twenty-somethings'.)

It's easy for them to push around the old (slightly nutty) guy. But no more. Not on my watch. Because this is No OK. I'll do my best to be at every meeting until Mr. Partridge get's to rant for three minutes to his heart's content. Because it is his RIGHT.
